The Jean-Francois family visited with us for the past week. Today, all of them left to go back to France except for their 16 year old son, Hugo. He will remain with us for 10 more days.
The last time we saw Hugo, it was in France and he was a baby. We had never met his 3 younger sisters, Romane, Clemence and Laure. This family is managed very well by their mother, Claire. Jean-Francois first became acquainted with our family when he was only 16 years old and spent one month in the U.S. We have been fortunate to visit his family 3 times. It has given us much pleasure to watch Jean-Francois mature into a man and now to have his own family.
After Hugo's family left at noon today, we ate our lunch and then headed out towards Annapolis to do some geocaching. It is an activity or sport that we have enjoyed very much for the past 3 years. We introduced Hugo and his family to geocaching a week ago and they now have become geocachers, too!
Our first stop today was at the Navy - Marine Corps Memorial Stadium where the U.S. Naval Academy plays their home football games. The geocache was located near a display of a jet plane which has been used by the Blue Angels, The U.S. Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron. We have been fortunate to see several of the exhibitions and it was a nice surprise to see one of these jets up close.
We looked for a few other caches in Annapolis and Hugo found one of them while Cordell and I were looking in the wrong places. On our way back to Dunkirk we stopped at another cache that we had found previously and let Hugo look for it. It was a fun cache and we knew he would enjoy it.
Dinner was very quiet tonight with the 5 other people missing. It is good for Hugo because now he is speaking and hearing only English.
Our evening ended with the three of us watching the Baltimore Orioles play a baseball game at home against the team from Tampa Bay.
