We have had a long and fun filled
day. We left home at 10:30 this morning and headed to Baltimore where we attend
an Orioles baseball game. Hugo has been watching the Orioles games on
television with us so he understands the game very well. We went to the park early
so that we could be certain to get a good parking place. Janelle was with us,
too. The Orioles organization was giving away special earbuds to children 14
years old and younger. So we wanted to be sure that Janelle would receive a
pair before the supply was depleted.
Cordell took Hugo on a tour
around the beautiful park. There are many interesting things to see. There is a
special section that has statues of famous retired Orioles players and a coach.
There is an area named Eutaw Street that has many shops and some restaurants.
Of course, we all had to purchase something with Orioles written on it. On the
pavement at Eutaw Street metal medallions have been placed where different
players have hit baseballs for home runs. Janelle and I saw one put there for
Brian Roberts, one of our favorite players.
The Orioles have a possibility of
being in the play-off games at the end of the season, so it is important for
them to win games. This was the third game this week in a series with the
Oakland Athletics. Friday the Orioles won and Saturday Oakland won. But, today
the Orioles had a very, very good game and they won 10-3! The weather was
perfect for a baseball game and we all had a fantastic experience.
After the ball game was over, we
decided that we wanted to go to one of our favorite restaurants for dinner.
But, before that we needed to find a geocache to fill in this 25th day of our
challenge to find a cache every day in August. So, there was one hidden very
near the restaurant and we stopped there. It was an easy find and Janelle saw
it first. I am glad that it was a quick
find because we all were hungry by that time.
So we went to the Red Lobster
which specializes in seafood. We were served a lot of food. Hugo and Cordell
ate everything. Janelle and I couldn’t finish our dishes and we brought some of
the food back home with us. However, Hugo, Janelle and I did manage to end the
meal with a chocolate brownie รก la mode.
We then drove Janelle back to her
house and went inside for a few minutes to chat with her parents. She has
enjoyed spending time with Hugo the past two days and he has been very kind to
her.
Finally we arrived back at our house at 8:30 p.m. The three of us were
tired but very, very happy to have spent such a wonderful day together.
